Pringles! | Experimental Composite Assemblies
ARC381 | Technology Studio II | Drawing + Physical Model | In Collaboration with Austin Wang and Sheyla Pabon

The project aims to explore spatial potentials offered by one of the four material/ assembly systems offered for each group. It combines parametric design and digital fabrication at a high degree. Amongst the four options, we chose bending-active structure as the primary one to work with.
Throughout the project, we not only widen our material choice for testing, but also nd out properties such as buckling amplitude opened possibilities for us to create both dynamic overall form and equilibrium structure to support it.
We believe that this is just the budding. As more synthesized materials such as PVC are developed, architectural forms could be inspired by the material compared to vice versa in the past.
